Cisco Packet Tracer is a networking tool created by Cisco Systems. It is a network simulator that can be used in training for Network certifications. Packet Tracer allows students to create networks with an unlimited number of devices and to get experience troubleshooting without having real Cisco routers and switches. The purpose of the tool is to offer students a platform to learn the principles of networking as well as develop Cisco technology specific skills. But, the tool cannot be used as a replacement for Routers or Switches. The above version is 6.2 instructor version.
